IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT –
DR. PAUL IS RETIRING
Dear Integrative Pediatrics Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the news of my retirement. Many of us have been together since Westside Pediatrics, dating back as far as 1993. We embarked on this journey called Integrative Pediatrics in 2008, with our guiding principle being “Safe passage in a changing world.” The goal was to put kids first and allow parents to make choices that were best for their children by providing informed consent. Many of you know I have been in a long battle with the Oregon Medical Board for years. Due to the no-win situation built into these proceedings, settling with the board has become the best decision. Separately, I will be continuing my lawsuit against them for wrongdoing.
I have a deep sadness that my retirement was not on my own terms. I will always think of every Integrative Pediatric family as my own family. I truly hope to stay connected to all the families I have grown to love. I give thanks to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Socrates said, “The Secret of Change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new!” With that in mind, I would like to share with you some wonderful news of what is to come.
We have linked arms to do what is best for our children, and we have created an incredible team that has been Integrative Pediatrics. Moving forward, I find comfort in knowing the entire team at Integrative Pediatrics will continue the vision and values you have all entrusted us to carry. Under the leadership of Mallory Johnson and Shaudine Woody, the team has formed a new clinic called NW Pediatrics Integrative Medicine. Effective December 5th, I will no longer be a licensed physician in Oregon, and because I will no longer be licensed, I can no longer continue to own and operate Integrative Pediatrics. Please have confidence in knowing the heart of Integrative Pediatrics lives on as NW Pediatrics Integrative Medicine at the same location: 11790 SW Barnes Rd Suite 140, Portland, OR 97225. Enclosed is a welcome message from the NW Peds team. Please support this amazing team by continuing your care with this clinic. I fully support this new venture and this ongoing commitment of care to our patients who have been a part of Integrative and the many new families to come. Most of the providers have worked together and alongside me for 14 years or more, and there is no team I trust more to care for the Integrative Pediatric family.
Once Integrative Pediatrics is closed, your medical records will be stored at NW Pediatrics Integrative Medicine. You can request records be transferred to the clinic of your choosing by calling the same phone number you used for Integrative Pediatrics: 503-643-2100. Future medical record requests can also be sent to NW Pediatrics Integrative Medicine. 11790 SW Barnes Rd suite 140. Portland OR 97225. Requests will be filled as per time limitations dictated by state law retention requirements. There may be a charge for this service.
As a farewell of love for all Integrative Pediatric patients, I will open my schedule for as many days as possible in October and November for you to make a final appointment with me. I will not be seeing new patients and am still not permitted to discuss vaccines or take care of chronic conditions. Many of our patients have chronic conditions, but in the context of those chronic conditions, your child may have some urgent needs or acute issues to address. Here is a partial list of some of the concerns you may want to make an appointment to discuss with me prior to my retirement: Acute Pain (headaches, ear, chest, back, joint, abdominal), Acute Mental Distress (anxiety, depression, irritability, fears, tantrums, behavior issues), Acute Skin Conditions (allergic rashes, bites, eyes, nose, skin, eczema), Injuries (bleeding, burns, cuts, abrasions, broken bones, joint injury, swelling), Breathing Problems (wheezing, cough, noisy breathing), Neurological Issues (clumsy, dizzy, fainting, seizures, stuttering), Acute Symptoms [bloody nose, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, fever, fussy baby, jaundice (yellow skin), sore throat, urine issues, vaginal discharge].
To make an appointment with Dr. Paul for any acute condition or to have questions answered about this transition, call Integrative Pediatrics at 503-643-2100.
Thank you for being in my life and trusting your child’s care to me and the Integrative Pediatrics team. You are the reason I have loved being a pediatrician. Please stay in touch (details enclosed)!
Staying in Touch and Supporting Dr. Paul’s Mission:
As I move forward, I will continue my lifelong passion for putting kids first with a new program called Kids First 4 Ever (https://www.kidsfirst4ever.com). In this program, I partner with DeeDee Hoover, who is a wellness coach and bodyworker/massage therapist. I will continue to find ways to usher in a new world of medical freedom and love.
DeeDee and I will offer wellness coaching and invite you to join our “Team of Change.” I will not diagnose or treat, but I will be a resource to educate and encourage. Sign up on our website to stay in touch and receive emails and text messages from Dr. Paul and DeeDee. You will soon be able to schedule coaching appointments. Check back periodically as we will be updating and expanding this website and what we can offer. After the closing of Integrative Pediatrics, I will no longer have access to individual emails. Sign up to receive emails from Dr. Paul here: https://www.kidsfirst4ever.com
In addition to wellness coaching, I will take on more speaking engagements at conferences all over the country on the topics of the Vaxxed-Unvaxxed data, COVID, and how to communicate in our polarized world.
I will continue my weekly show and podcast, “Against the Wind: Doctors and Science Under Fire” (https://www.doctorsandscience.com). You can sign up for the newsletter at no charge or consider joining the team for $4.95/month to support my work.
For any other reasons or concerns, please contact DeeDee Hoover (my Manager) via text message @ 541-233-8400. She will also be organizing a (semi) surprise retirement party. If you would like to attend or help, please contact her soon. Date and more information to follow.
Let’s stay in touch in as many ways as possible!
