Paul Thomas, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Paul Thomas was born in Portland Oregon, grew up in Southern Africa, speaks some Shona and Spanish and is married with nine children (six adopted). He has been active in pediatric programs at St. Vincent's Hospital and Emanuel Children's Hospital and for years was on the clinical faculty at OHSU in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Thomas is a Christian and will show equal respect to the emotional and spiritual needs of children of all faiths.

He has masters in biology, M.D. from Dartmouth Medical School and pediatric residency at UCSD, and is a board-certified fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Thomas is also board-certified in Integrative and Holistic Medicine. He started the Pediatric After-hours Clinic (now Pediatric ER) at Emanuel Children's Hospital where he also taught medical students and residents from 1988-1993. He was clinical faculty at OHSU for many years and took health care to the migrant farm workers in partnership with Northwest Medical Teams. He has been a full-time pediatrician at Westside Pediatrics since 1993 and opened his own practice, Integrative Pediatrics, LLC, in June of 2008. Dr Thomas also opened Fair Start (a medical detox clinic) in February of 2009, and Pediatric Urgent Care in November of that same year. Current interests include preventative health, coordination with alternative health concepts and management of sick children. In addition to pediatrics, he enjoys his role as husband and dad. The Ladies Home Journal recently named Dr. Paul Thomas to the Top Family Doctors in America.

Carol Squyres, MD


Carol Squyres, M.D.
Dr. Carol Squyres was born and raised in NorthEastern Pennsylvania, attended medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia, and completed her pediatric training at University of California, San Francisco. She is a board certified fellow of the Academy of Pediatrics. She is married with two grown daughters, as well as a new delightful granddaughter.

Dr. Squyres began her medical career with her husband providing preventive health care to migrant farm workers in California. She then worked in her own private practice in Bakersfield, California, for 12 years. While in Bakersfield, Dr. Squyres served as Chief of Pediatrics for two community hospitals and taught residents at Kern Medical Center. Desiring to return to the East coast to be near family, Dr. Squyres joined DuPont Hospital for Children as physician-in-charge of a satellite clinic in Middletown, Delaware, where she worked for 12 years. She was director also of a pediatric extended care unit and a pediatric on-call service.

Upon retirement, she and her husband, Joseph, moved to Portland to be near their daughter, Jennifer. Recently, their daughter Michelle, also moved to Portland. Dr. Squyres is happy to be working part-time for Integrative Pediatrics caring for children again. She also enjoys singing in her church choir, attending the gym, and walking around Portland. Last October, she and her husband walked in the Portland Marathon, and were thrilled to finish.

Cathy Lien, CPNP

Cathy Lien, CPNP
Cathy completed graduate school at OHSU SON (The Oregon Health Sciences University School of Nursing) with a Masters in Nursing and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP. She is board certified through NAPNAP (The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners). For the past 13 years, Cathy has worked part-time as a PNP in private practice. She has been married almost 18 years. Working part-time has allowed Cathy the time and energy to help raise her 14-year-old twin sons, Daniel and Erik. “We keep pretty busy with all of the sports, music, and school events. The truth is- most of my time is spent feeding the boys and driving them places”. In her free time, Cathy likes to walk, read and meet friends for lattes. On a more personal note, she absolutely loves being a mom and a nurse practitioner. “I feel that “having a sense of humor” helps me appreciate and care for your children as well as my own in each stage of development.”

Mallory Johnson, PNP

Mallory Johnson, PNP
Mallory was born and raised in Oregon. She receiveda Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Portland and worked in pediatrics at Emanuel Children's Hospital. Wanting to pursue a career where she could develop relationships with families and watch their children grow, she obtained a Masters degree as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Mallory was raised with seven siblings and loves working with children.

Wendy Ware, CPNP


Wendy Ware, CPNP
After obtaining a Bachelors of Nursing at the University of Rochester, New York, Wendy returned home to Missouri to work at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital infectious disease unit. It was there that she met her husband, Dan, a native Oregonian. They married and moved to Portland 30 years ago. Wendy obtained her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training through OHSU in 1978. She worked briefly with Dr. Thomas at the Legacy Emanuel Outpatient clinic in her early PNP career and has had the privilege of working with him over the last twelve years in private practice. Wendy has two grown children, a son and a daughter. She continues to cultivate her passion for horses and equestrian vaulting (gymnastics and dance on horseback) controlling the horse for the vaulters. Other interests include traveling, dining out and theater. Wendy looks forward to continuing in the care of our established families and welcoming those of you new to Integrative Pediatrics.

Jan Golden, RN

Advice Nurse
Jan has been working with Dr. Thomas since 1994, starting first as a Medical Assistant, and then returning to school to earn a nursing degree. Of Jan's twenty-four year working career, twenty years are in pediatrics and four were in dermatology. "Pediatrics is where I always wanted to work. I love the teaching aspect of this job. I cannot imagine myself anywhere else. I am especially grateful to work with such an amazing group of people here at Integrative Pediatrics."
Jan and her husband are life-long residents of Oregon. They have four grown children and four grandchildren. They enjoy traveling, spending time with the family, and racing after the two new puppies they adopted at Christmastime.

Jillisa Chen, RN

Jillisa Chen, RN
Jillisa graduated from the University of Portland with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2004. Since becoming an RN, she worked on the Internal Medicine Unit at Providence Portland Medical Center. Jillisa obtained a Spanish Minor with volunteer and study abroad experiences in Mexico being the highlight of her Spanish education at the University of Portland. She has always loved to travel and learn about different cultures, and continues to study Spanish in her free time. Jillisa is also beginning to learn to speak Cantonese with the help of her husband. Other hobbies include playing the flute and spending time outdoors. Jillisa is happy to have joined the team at Integrative Pediatrics to finally persue her long-time interest in pediatrics.

Shaudine Woody, RN

Shaudine Woody, RN
Shaudine and her husband are the busy parents of two little girls ages 3 and 5. She has a Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Health and Human performances from George Fox University. She then attended Oregon Health Sciences University and earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. Her work experience includes postpartum, labor and delivery and pediatric nursing. Her husband and children are her hobbies but in her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, exercising and shopping (of course!).

Stephanie
Stephanie Osborne, CMA

Stephanie Osborne is a Certified Medical Assistant and graduated from Pioneer Pacific College in 2003. She was a stay-at-home mom and working as a nanny until she put herself through school. Stephanie was hired by the wonderful Dr. Paul Thomas right after graduation for her first Medical Assistant job. “I have been working with him for the past 5 years and I am excited to continue to be a part of his team for many more years to come.”

Stephanie is a single mom of two beautiful children, Amber and Blake. Her daughter Amber is 15 and she is the diva of the house, while her son Blake is 12 and he is the laid back kid who loves to ride dirt bikes. Stephanie’s greatest joy in life is being a mom and she loves how they continue to teach her so much about this amazing world we live in.

“I feel so blessed to be in a career that I look forward to going into work every day. It’s a fantastic feeling to work in an environment where you are constantly rewarded with hugs and kisses. I truly enjoy working in pediatrics and I look forward to bringing loving care to all of our patients.”

Stephanie also helps out with Pediatric Urgent Care on evenings and weekends.

Joann Springer

Joann Springer
Office Manager
After working at another pediatric practice for 10 years, where she enjoyed interacting both with patients and staff and keeping the office running smoothly, Joann is looking forward to joining Integrative Pediatrics!

She was born in Tennessee but has lived in Oregon her whole life. Joann graduated from Walla Walla College with an associate degree in office administration and worked for Argonaut Insurance for several years. Before getting into pediatrics, she taught piano and was a church secretary. She has been married for 37 years and has 2 sons/daughter-in-laws and 3 beautiful grandchildren. She lives in a floating home and enjoys a lot of water activities, motorcycle trips, and spending time with friends and family. "My goal at Integrative Pediatrics is to ensure that our patients and families receive professional, courteous and friendly care at all times."

Kristy was born and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon as the oldest of five daughters. She has nine fantastic nieces and nephews and has been happily married for eight wonderful years. Kristy has five adorable kids who are just missing the human gene; their dogs Shasta, Zeus and Oliver and their cats Mia and Smokey. For the past seven years, she has been a full time insurance coding & billing coordinator. Kristy really enjoys the challenging aspects of working with insurance carriers and the rewarding experience of working with families. “I would like to welcome you to our practice and look forward to the opportunity to assist in your billing experience here at Integrative Pediatrics LLC.”

In Aja’s free time, she likes to make jewelry and watch movies. Ice cream is her favorite food and her favorite sports team is the Portland Trail Blazers.

Noah is the eldest son of Dr. Thomas and loves using his Spanish while working for integrative pediatrics to create a smooth transition for Spanish speaking people that come into the office. While undecided of a major at Portland State, he looks forward to starting his junior year and discovering his future career. In his free-time, Noah loves writing music, staying active, watching basketball, and spending time with his soon-to-be wife, Jessie.
